Most of us love to eat at fast-food restaurants, but weight gain is major concern. If you love fast-food but want to lose weight the Fast Food Diet is right for you. This sounds ironical but a leading cardiologist believes that weight loss is possible on the Fast Food Diet. All you need to do is choose wisely from the menu and exercise regularly.

The Fast Food Diet is a six-week guide that helps to make healthiest selections from a fast-food restaurant menu, for all your meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and snacks. The guide has tips on selecting healthy foods from other places like the mall food courts, sit-down restaurants, airports, and convenience stores.

The fast food diet is good for anyone who loves the convenience and taste of fast food but intends to eat healthy food or lose weight.

The Fast Food Diet: What You Can Eat

If you are on fast food diet you can enjoy grilled chicken sandwiches, baked potatoes, fruit parfaits, and even junior burgers. But avoid french fries as it contains unhealthy trans fats as unhealthy trans fats from fried foods are not allowed.

Similarly avoid foods that contain high calories or fats such as the mayonnaise, cheese, special sauces, and sodas. This can let you enjoy your fast food and cut down on calories as well. The Fast Food Diet has some simple and nutritious recipes as well which can be prepared in 15 minutes.

During fast food diet you will eat a total of about 1,500 calories daily from food and beverages, but the most important thing is exercise. You should walk a mile during fast food diet. If you stick to your diet plan and exercise regularly you could lose about 50 pounds in a year. And in addition you will not feel hungry or crave for foods you like.

The Fast Food Diet: What the Experts Say

According to experts fast food is not off-limits when you are on a diet. You just need to make smart choices and limit your portion size. Avoid foods that are rich in fats and calories and avoid sweetened drinks and sodas. Walking addresses regular physical activity, a necessity for weight loss. Although it is called the fast food diet a number of fast foods are off limit during the diet. So you cannot eat everything that is served in a fast food restaurant.

However if you eat all you meals at fast food-restaurants it is not possible to meet the recommendations by the food pyramids (fruits, vegetables, fibers, proteins). So while you are on a fast food diet make efforts to eat more fruits, vegetables, salads, and whole grains as well. And to ensure that you get a balanced nutrition over a period of time include some home-cooked meals each week. Make sure that when you prepare home cooked meals you include fruits, vegetables, add fiber and whole grains in your diet and limit calories and fat.

The Fast Food Diet: Food for Thought

It is not possible not lose weight on a diet of fast food if you do not make intelligent choices. Although it is called fast food diet you will have to avoid foods like fries, sodas, sweetened beverages. In addition you will have to limit your intake of foods rich in fats and calories like burger with cheese, sandwich with mayonnaise and sauces.

To ensure that you get a balanced nutrition fast food diet will have to be supplemented with healthy meals at home. And, most important of all, have a regular exercise or physical activity program.
